One reason I like Bitcoin is I don't agree how the people I work 2 months of every year for distribute the money.  Fun experiment to see how much time per year you work to pay taxes.  I think Bitcoin or other digital currency has opportunity to change this.  Wondering what people think of this idea, technically, politically, or morally.

Say I have the option to pay $5,000 of my $10,000 tax burden (or some % of it) by transferring bitcoin to any of 1000's of certified government agencies, charities, projects etc..  I get to choose and it's all verified by signatures submitted to IRS.  This is how congress is supposed to work anyway right?  Representatives take their constituents needs to the East, pass laws and budgets based on what the people they represent have told them (kinda funny writing that).  So we are saving some admin costs and time here.

Seems then it becomes a battle about what sort of entities deserve to be on this "official" list of tax money recipients.  But that is the same thing as we have now. Only with this method everyone has the opportunity to fleece their buddies company, or create a company get it on this list and fleece themselves, not just congress and executive branches.

This is percentage of the budget is called the people's budget and is way more transparent so Obama should buy in (sarcasm).  Could start with a very small percentage and see how it goes.  This should go over very well (sarcasim) since it's not changing government in any way only being more efficient with our representation and administration costs.

Noone can claim or expect of government and administration costs to be transparent the way they would be if bitcoin would to be used as means of funding it (regardless of who is funding).
The only way they (the administration ) , would react to such a proposal would be to deny it , as the last thing they want is transparency. It's the same story all across the world, not just in US of A.

Well that's no attitude to have. The government is made of people you put there.  Unless you are live somewhere where you have no choice, that is unfortunate.  "Do you support the people's budget?" is easily asked of someone running for office.  How do you say no to that if there is easy solution to implement it?  That's of course if you think it's a good idea, maybe it is not.

Look, the idea is good, but it's the implementation is  what's impossible. While you may think that you can elect government, the reality is that most of people that could make a difference choose
not to even take a vote. In the end you're left with same people running things, just with a different face, because the general public get brainwashed by media and press months before election.
And guess who owns them ?

Just as long as you pay what is due, you should not have any problems. We have a different system and it is a lot less complicated than yours. I find when people exploit loopholes, these types of things are quickly picked up by the IRS and they close those gaps over time.

It's like a Anaconda - It push, every time you breath out, and you die slowly.
