Did you ever fake your feelings?

Hi I just want to ask if you ever experience faking your feelings to others like saying to the one you loved that you never loved her but still deep in your heart you loved her . This is very common to us teenager but I just want to clarify if what I doing is right because you know I am lying to myself saying I didn't like her , I know many of us experience this kind of situation so I want to learn from you all especially to adults here  how  they deal with this?any comment , reaction , suggestion is very much appreciated .
