Hey Guys,
I have a startup company about bitcoin in UK so I'm trying to learn everything about bitcoin. I'm trying to learn bitcoin mining. Where should I start and which mining machine should I buy?
P.S.: Just trying to learn this thing. My aim is not making money.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

1000 KW price is under 5 cent/per KW and from 1001 and more 10 cent/per KW I think is worth to try. Should I buy antminer? or do you have any mining machine to suggest? Thanks  |

If you are just learning, either buy a new geccoscience compaq or a cheap second hand S3/S5 on this forum. Use them to experiment and learn... Afterwards, you need to make a full study in order to see if mining is profitable for you, which costs you have to make in order to start mining, what are the running costs and how much profit you'll make. But to start out, a compac stick or an S3 or S5 will do to teach you the basics  |

Thank you so much Honestly with 10 cent's I'm not sure a S3 would be my first choice. Do some ROI math but S3's are just not efficient these day's. They are great machines and built like tanks... but at 10 cents unless a bargain I dont see ROI happening. I suggest looking into new miners and running ROI math. Make sure to use one like https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator so you have difficulty changes. But try a few different miners in there. Also never invest more then you can lose mining is not guaranteed ROI. |

I agree with both notlist3d and Amph, but the OP stated that he's just trying to learn, not to make money... That's why i pointed him to an S3/S5... Offcourse, and S5 will beat the S3 from a ROI point, but as a learning device i would pick the cheapest one |

Hopefully OP did not buy S3 or anything before doing ROI. But learning and possible gain is much more fun then learning and loosing
I don't want to start a discussion about this... I acnowledge that an S3 will never ROI, i just tried to answer the OP's question... A cheap piece of hardware that'll allow you to learn about mining. Offcourse it'll be more fun if he actually makes a profit, but in that case he needs to invest quite a bit of money and buy an S7 right away I learned about mining with an antminer U2 i bought for 0.11 BTC, i knew i would never ROI, but just like the OP, i wanted to learn |

Thanks 1000 kw is 1mw where do u live your electricity is nearly free. your bills will be under 1cent on your home? I suppose all those units were meant to be in kWh? If so, it's still pretty hard to ROI even at that price and reaching above 1MWh per month is incredibly hard. |

After it was brought up you then said you "but the OP stated that he's just trying to learn, not to make money... " Of course he want's to make money to. He never said he wanted to take a loss. This is silly. I worded my response nicely I thought, I'm not looking for a argument just that OP gets proper info. If you make a suggestion where you know they will not make money you should post that, that is a big thing to leave out. Before sending him to a S3 we really needed exact electricity and amount he is willing to spend. I suggest asking these next time before throwing out S3. |

I think that you can find everything you need the mining section. You must consider these problems: Electricity cost, budget, location, ability to live with noise and heat  |
