I think it is hard to find exact no. of users but we can predict from bitcoin transaction volume and total bitcoin wallet opened all over the online wallet.  This also seems to be not achievable although i atleast know china has larger no. of bitcoin users as of now.

There is really no way to find the correct answer to your question. The amount of transactions doesn't tell us much because the same people could be making transactions over and over. And the amount of addresses doesn't tell us anything as people can have multiple addresses. The only thing I can say is that more people are using Bitcoin, you can see this by the fact that more places are accepting Bitcoin.

Yes I can't agree more with you. We also need to keep in mind that this what we are doing here has never ever been done before. To make a transparent, trustless money /commodity call it as you want, from scratch and this 1 token today has a worth of over $300! All of this is quite exceptional we all must agree and the best thing is that we have just started!

Do you mean the 10 million bitcoin address? If there are 10 million bitcoin users, the bitcoin will be more than $10k now. I reckon there are fewer than 1 million bitcoin holders. The most of the coin are owned by very few people. These people have multiple bitcoin addresses so give us feeling of many users.

Those stats might be a bit inaccurate (especially for the forum) considering that there are quite a few alt accounts - and a lot of the accounts on this site are dead or were never used. Personally, I think 10 million might be rather optimistic - my personal guess was more around 2 million or less given the amount of interest has died down back the much of the core userbase.

Of course they are just Bitcoin addresses. I don't even think we have 1000K actual people holding Bitcoin at the moment. And when are you considered to be holding Bitcoin?? Is that when you have at least 1 satoshi?

According to all of the above answers, I think you've to do your own survey to find the accurate stats.

The reason for not easy to find signature campaign is that many campaign closed down. They cannot afford it when bitcoin price rises. I do see a lot of active users in many threads and the number of posts has risen over the last 6 months. The bitcoin.com also has a user forum now.
