What will happen when I mine a Block?

So I am solo mining with my GPU, when I actually do stumble upon a block of BTC's how will i know? Will it come up in the Bitcoin.org software that 50BTC's where transferred to me?

If you've set everything up right, then yes... you'd better have a ridiculously powerful ATI gpu though, if you're solo mining...  From what I've heard, multi-GPU setups are best.

Well ya, I have a Tri Crossfire setup, Im pulling about 900 M/Hash/s Im also have a friend who is helping me with about 400 M/Hash/s ... Any idea how long it would take to see a block?

with 900MH/s, you don't even expect a block every month at current difficulty.  You could potentially go months without ever finding a single block while difficulty continually increases.

You are much better off in a pool with only 900-1300MH/s

There is a calculator somewhere for that, you input your hashrate and the current difficulty and it tells you when you will get block for sure, when you got 50% chance of winning and i think a few other points.

i hear crossfiring is bad. just mine non-crossfire.
