Expected rates for undervolting 5830s?

I have 3x 5830 rig and may try under-volting when the block reward halves.
Currently I average around 900 MH/s @ roughly 520 W.
Depending on how difficulty adjust after the halving I may either stop completely or see if under-volting allows me to continue for a while longer.

Can anyone provide a ball park estimate what I might expect with some under-volting? eg. maybe 700 MH/s @ 400W or something?

It's been a while since I used 5830s, but I thought you could get them down to just over 100W, depending on how far you undervolt. I would say 750MH/s @ 400W would be pretty close to what you should expect.

Remember, you could always experiment now and see what's most profitable. See what you can get with all ur cards at 0.95V, and run the numbers. http://bitcoinx.com/profit/index.php is a great tool.

Thanks for that. I should do some testing. It's coming soon enough anyway. Plugging those numbers into my mining calc seems to turn slightly unprofitable into just slightly profitable, and I expect the difficulty will drop as well, for a short while anyway.

So after some testing I found I could do 760 MH/s @ 375W. This gives me the same profit as my current 900 MH/s @ 566W, but has the advantage that when the reward halves I actually come out  just a weensy bit ahead. That's better than the loss I expected by going at the higher speed and no doubt it puts less wear on the GPUs too as the fans run much lower now.
