I'm currently on a dual-boot setup and have my blockchain and wallet in my Windows XP partition and want to use Bitcoin on my Windows 7 partition.
The problem is that if I try to open Bitcoin on my Windows 7 partition I'm forced to re-download the blockchain and obtain a new wallet.

Is there anyway to change the data directory location so that Bitcoin clients will share the same location? I can't seem to find the option in Bitcoin-qt and hope they implement this in the next version.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

There is more to Bitcoin than bitcoins.

Yes, add "-datadir=<dir>" to your target.
If you are moving databases to another directory, you'll want to tick the "detach databases at shutdown" option in bitcoin-qt.

They're there, in their room.
Your mining rig is on fire, yet you're very calm.
