Is there a mining pool dedicated to taking out alt coins via a 51% attack?

I would gladly donate my GPU/CPU's to it.... especially when ASICs come out.

I just registered for the $PLOTS presale! Tier II round is for the public at $0.025 per token. Allocation is very limited and you need to register first using the official Part III link found on their twitter. When ASIC comes out..... if u don't have a SC single or more..... i'd be surprised if you and others in a pool would be able to compete with any of the big altcoins.... and why u want to destroy others development and waste their time?? BBQ coin was 51% attacked... so there are case studies out there of how to do it, and that it is possible, but think u would upset a fair few people if you dedicated your time to this... but gl to ya

More power to you. I will donate BTC towards funding these attacks.

Litecoin will be difficult. Target all the others first.

In all seriousness, can someone provide a logical argument against alt coins?

I've yet to see one.

Arlttacking them is potentially profitable. What better argument is there?

I've yet to see one.

Well vs SOME the argument would be the following:

It's an obvious pump and dump designed to make money for those behind it (from selling their pre-mined coins) at the expense of others.
Attacking it early reduces the profit they make.
Preventing/reducing them making money from gullible users is good - we have some duty to try to protect the naive.

Then there's the more general argument that the effort put into many of the alt-coins would benefit the community more if it was put into developing existing coins.

Not saying I particularly agree with either of those arguments but they do have logic to them (it's the assumptions made to justify the logic - not the logic itself - that are questionable).

Ok I may understand it as a certain attitude is present among some.

So many bitcoin supporters shit their pants thinking of a viable alternative to bitcoin. It is like going against the "religion" of bitcoin.

1. Thou shalt not create another block chain to compete with bitcoin.

If you break that they question you like: "What's the point of LTC?" ROFL!

LOL! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Lol post got deleted by mods. Apparently attacking alt chains is okay. Explaining how to profit by attacking alt chains is not okay. Forbidden knowledge.

Well you know what they say when life gives you lemons make lemonade. Where is your entrepreneurial spirit great chance for your "Have fun and profit by attacking alt-chains" newsletter/subscription service.

Actually you are right. I was wrong. Sorry about that. Will delete false accusation.

The OP posted two almost identical thread topics in different sub-forums. I got confused by this.

You don't make sense.

DnT might be on to something, he's trying to short litecoin by borrowing them here. I haven't heard an update on his progress though. And it's a pretty risky business and wouldn't "knock out" anything.
Besides specifically implementing a "killer" cryptocurrency there is no way from profiting from such an attempt. (See my thread above, since some of you are engage in discussing hostile concepts I'd though I play along.)
