Had lunch at the Divan Kitchen in North Vancouver BC today, and they accepted their first bitcoin payment via blockchainexplorer on an iPhone. Now all they need is some decals for the window. If anyone is in the area I would definitely recommend paying them a visit. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/14/1519806/restaurant/Vancouver/Divan-Kitchen-North-Vancouver

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Get them to list it as a payment option on the website. Then we can list it on the map https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Real_world_shops

SealsWithClubs poker room has over 400 players online. Buy in from .01 to 60btc. BTCSportsMatch lets you bet sports with vig free lines! Best kept secret in bitcoin.... LocalBitcoins.com is very user-friendly now for bank transfers. You don't have to live close to trade when in the same currency area. Electrum client is awesome. Try it. And please stop sending bitcoins to sites run by security newbies, or don't complain when you lose everything.

The food is great, cool atmosphere and the pricing is completely reasonable. No real 'sales pitch' per say. The restaurant is operated by the owners, one of them I have gotten to know personally by eating there. The topic of bitcoin has come up more than a few times, and I would presume that he has become increasingly interested in the concept. So yesterday while I was having lunch I showed him how to setup the Blockchainexplorer app on his iPhone and then asked "can I pay with bitcoin?" to which he said "sure". I showed him how to generate a qr code, scanned it and transferred the funds. If anyone wants to contact the restaurant the phone number for Divan Kitchen is in the link. Ask for Mark. or divankitchen@gmail.com

Argumentum ad lunam: the fallacy that because Bitcoin's price is rising really fast the currency must be a speculative bubble and/or Ponzi scheme.

Awesome! I'll have to get over there one day and try them out. I just ordered 10 'bitcoin accepted here' stickers from http://cryptoanarchy.com/ so I'll give them one when they arrive.

Lol. This place takes one payment from someone they know in bitcoin and suddenly it is being put on maps and in magazines. When a business decides to accept bitcoin, the bitcoin community spreads the word. What's so Lol about that? I hope this guy is ready for more people trying to pay in bitcoin. They have blockchainexplorer on an iPhone, so yes they are ready to process more bitcoin payments.

What are the advantages? The advantage is that it'd almost be like mobile banking.
