you can see the "rule" how the wallet combine different inputs to solve a block  inside the wallet.cpp
the changes are client side and can be modified on your usage.

https://github.com/Tillkoeln/X2/blob/master/src/wallet.cpp#L1703  set the limit how much single inputs are used to solve a block.
max 100 inputs,   but never more then x

I can not get "setgenerate true -1"  to work 

there exist no Miner inside this Wallet. i recommend cpuminer-multi-rel1.1 for CPU mining
or Cudaminer/CCMiner for Nvidia Cards  and SGminer for ATI Cards
if you dont know how to Setup the conf file which enable the solo mining feel free to ask for help
