Interesting thread.

A year a go i read in bitcoin and i was in love right away. Then i started buying some small miners and from there bought larger miners. The concept of bitcoin got me and i spend more time on the markets + my miners. Eventually I sold my miners and went to using bitcoin and speculation on the price.

That's an interesting story, I came too late to get into the mining, but I am glad you made it. This probably gave a you a nice start for trading when mining was not profitable anymore.

I was looking for ways to earn some dollars online. I used a auto viewer named hitleap in which I used to pay the premium option to get a better service.

One day, when I was going to pay my monthly suscription, I noticed they allowed payments in Bitcoin, so I researched what that "Bitcoin" was... looked some videos and created a wallet.

The fist time I interested with Bitcoin was when my friend told me about an easy way to earn money online to buy a Steam Game, at first I'm not too sure that it would be easy. And it turns out, this is not too difficult indeed. Grin

It all began way back when I was unemployed back then and I was just sitting in front of my laptop the whole day. Then one day, I thought of something I can do online to earn $$$ and be somehow productive. So I googled about it until I found bitcoin (faucets). From then on, I researched about bitcoin as I find it interesting.

Wealthy client of mine is an early adopter, we've done several business deals before. He bugged me about it over & over again.

He's uber rich so I followed his tip & that's about all there is to say.

I'm just a mathematical science nerd and that's how I got into it. My story isn't that interesting, but I have to admit that my two friends' stories are actually more entertaining and interesting.

First heard about it on the end of 2012/beginning of 2013, I think. Read about it on mainstream media and thought it was cool but didn't investigate further. Read about it later on the 1000$ climb and eventually got interested because of money reasons... Ended up staying mainly because of what Bitcoin stands for, because it is much better than conventional banking, because governments who control fiat are corrupt and we need an alternative to the expensive banking system that ends up stealing individuals.

I missed out on my chance sometime in 2011/2012 (not exactly sure anymore) because I initially saw it on a website that was selling drugs (instantly exited the website because I'm not interested in such things). Eventually I somehow found this place in 2013. I don't know exactly how the internet brought me here; I didn't even know what Bitcoin exactly was before I found this place. It's been a lovely 2 and a half years (I'm talking particularly about this experience and not my life in general, which was not).

I am a front end developer and major tech enthusiast. I did not get involved until a year ago, after many years of NOT following up on it and reading about it.  I had heard about it several times, not until I read about it did I truly understand how amazing it is.  I immediately could grasp the planet changing consciousness it has the potential to bring in terms of money and how people all over the world could benefit.  My enthusiasm, despite ups and downs, has not wavered.

I love Bitcoin

I am fairly new to owning bitcoin (February), but started watching it in 2012.

I am a serious independent investor, and have been buying bitcoin as a long-term investment.  Although I have libertarian/anarchocapitalist beliefs, the ideological premise is of secondary importance to me.

My education (graduate degree) is in mathematics.

My sense (in talking with professional investors) is that many investors want in, but the problem is liquidity.  How to take a sizable position without moving the price significantly?

I am not sure if this is a usual story, but I heard about it on the tv. I decided to learn more about it because I like tech. Back then, things were a bit confusing. The first site I found was a faucet, which did not make a lot of sense because I did not have a wallet  Grin

I got into bitcoin in the beginning of 2013 after stumbling upon Bitcointalk I believe.
First I tried out some faucets and after a few days I bought my first coins at around $100, I think it was.

Forgot about them until Bitcoin was all over the news when the price went over $1000, near the end of 2013.

My first goal was purely profit, that was all I was interested in, in the very beginning of 2013. After that, I have been learning more about what Bitcoin really is, and how it works. After that I became a huge supporter of the technology that powers Bitcoin. It made me happy because I can finally own the money that I have been working very hard for. And then I said goodbye to PayPal, Skrill and the other crappy payment services. From that time I am fully working with Bitcoin to make and receive payments.

At first that i saw Bitcoin.
I ignored it thinking it was just scam in the internet.
months later, i saw it again.
I was looking for a job online at that time.
and look at it. I become interested on it as i saw that i can earn from it.
I tried it the first time and start from faucets.
All  faucets that i saw I tried it. Then after gambling...
and so on... but the one thing I really become interested on it is because
of the fast transactions it has and can really send money to any part of the world,
with just a little fee... that thing alone is awesome.

2011 was trading shares of bluechip companies. and some cheap penny shares.
started looking into other investments. even bonds and methods to buy bank debt contracts
started getting interested in how the banking system worked behind the scenes, how money creation happened and was so mind blown at the legalised scam of credit/debt.

after a few more searches came across bitcoin. read everything, the white paper, github code, and i was hooked. by spring 2012 i began trading it, and made nice profits off them early day volatility movements.

since then been more interested in the business side rather than day trading.

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at
