I can't think of a way to move money from Gox to a brokerage fast enough to do that.

Nothing to see here. It is just a big miner making their monthly cash out to pay the electric bill.

Also, the price jumped up rather sharply the past week, a downward correction is almost inevitable.

Agree with both parts, but speculation could still be the reason, but surely the downward correction will happen for sure
