It highly depends from which country you come from. When you come from the States or some European country then it is pretty risky. But when you come from some East European countries - Russia, Romania and Ukraine for instance, or Malta - then risk is calculable.

the success will depend on the new features that you will have on the website and the games that you will have

you need not have new features to attract ppl, you need to have good promotion/ marketing. to be honest, most of the site is almost the same, it is how they promote and how they advertise their site that makes them more profitable.

Its all about creating something new and marketing it well in my opinion. If you just come out with another lame dice site theres nothing setting it apart from the others who have more established sites already. I'm just going off of what attracts me to certain gambling sites. Its gotta be something new or have a nice sleek look or something.

Living is risky Smiley

Depends what are you going to build, how, to whom, and when. Depends on your marketing budget and operation - you can succeed, just need to know what are you going to face first.

Anyhow
Good luck

yah i agree the country u r in is very risky. i rmb there is a lot of cases whereby the owner setup sites and den later after about half a yr to a year need to close down even if it is profitable due to the change in country policy.

...and don't forget that promotion or ads plays a big part in the succes of any site out there.
Without a good promotion or ads, site will be unknown to others.
It's very seldom that a site becomes successful through word of mouth only.

A great way to reduce risk is to use the MoneyPot platform. You can quickly set up a new site, backed by over 100 BTC of investor funds (at the moment) and you get guaranteed returns on all player bets through your site, win or lose.

haha although you are trying to advertise your business but it is really very true indeed. although winnings will be lower as mp takes a porportion of it, but the benefits they bring is quite huge. many ppl r interested in reasonable size of bankroll so new startup is very quite to achieve that on its own.

yah a new gambling site needs really a very good pool to attract ppl, and becuz mp is tapping on that to provide such a service, i think it is a win win situation for both parties.

Not trying to advertise it so much as post honest information. I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't stand behind it 100%, and I'd have said the same thing regardless, Smiley. Far too many sites pop up and crash in a short period due to insufficient bankrolls or other complications.

I dont think there will be problem to their site. Although that site doesnt prove that they are legal

There should be problem at the future but Bitcoin gambling business is still new and government take no time to find out who is responsible with the site even if it is illegal but in fiat gambling business then this will be different because government doesn't allow any illegal gambling going around

I don't think goverment will ever be able to control websites. There might be websites that willingly become heavily regulated to give a peace of mind to to those with more traditional views, but as time goes on, more and more privacy will be delivered into the protocol and websites will be fully decentralized and trustless.

well sadly to say the government can control all your online traffic. if there is a need, they can stop u from using or access to certain places. of course there is way to bypass it but if they r really on the balls, they can even block it or restrict u to certain sites.

A part legal question, the risk depends on how much money and effort you invest to create your idea.
Higher is the investment, higher is the risk of s loss....but higher is the possibility to create a stunning idea....
Of course the gambling site market is over nowadays, but is true that the site that really rocks today are always the same from years.....so with a great team of Devs, with a new idea and with a big investment in promotion (specially on how much trustable and fair is your site) you can take some risk but you can also increase the probability that your site could survive for time.

Unless you build a solid, secure, innovative, quality and provably fair website with enough money in your pockets it could still be risky, but less risky than without these ingredients.

To minimize risk, also make sure you base your servers/website in a gambling friendly country like Costa Rica, Antigua or whatever country .io is.
