Just curious why these cards are priced so high. Mistake or is there something I am missing?

Must be a mistake.... Had something like this to (in the other direction == price to low) with amazon and an automated program that uploads your webshop to amazon.... Or its kind of a weird (likely illegal) deal between two people to get a valid bill for customs etc.... IDK

Maybe those cards were bought when they were still hot (as in, they just came out) and the seller refuses to sell at a loss.

or maybe some one defaulted (must be a prirate i think?) and now the guy handling the liquidation starts to sell them, without knowing their actual value....

Didn't look at the price nor do I know the actual value, but many eBay sellers will edit their listings to add an extra digit to the price while they wait for more stock. That way, if someone is dumb enough to buy it for 10x the cost, it's worth the hassle of an angry customer complaining about wait times. Also, they avoid additional fees from canceling and re-listing auctions.

Still seems pretty expensive, but not nearly as bad.

Newegg is completely sold out of 69xx cards, so scarcity might have a role to play? tigerdirect has 6950's for $250+, which is still crazy. You're better off getting a 7870 at that price; it's better for gaming and mining.

It's simply to preserve the auction ID and the "sold" history. The price is raised to extremely high levels  so as to not have to cancel and re-list. This also has to do with the "best match" results. Auctions with multiple qty that have had multiple sold can increase the "best match" placement.

Also by retaining the same listing, the seller won't lose all the "watchers" who have the item saved in their Watch List, where relisting would.

I've done the same thing in my own listings, to keep something from selling out (and ending the listing) when stock levels are low.
