As i am a european i am looking for the best exchange to trade from bitcoin in euro and reverse. I was out for a long time as i lost a lot on Mt Gox in the past. We all know what happened.

So i ask this question before i decide to trust my BTC to an Exchange.

Kraken verification goes in levels depending on the amounts you're putting in and taking out so you'd need to check their website.

btc-e's BTC/EUR market is pitifully thin so should be discounted completely.

The limits are only shown when you are logged in I think (at least when I registered a long time ago)
here is a screenshot, but maybe also not up to date Cheesy

Kraken one of the best exchanges for BTC/EUR trading, very accurate and generous rate as well as low trading fees.

So i ask this question before i decide to trust my BTC to an Exchange.

Kraken, much volume, high trading limits and a very fast support.

On a side note their withdrawal fee @ 0.005 (BTC withdrawals) is quite high comparing it to other exchanges.
BTC 2 Fiat by SEPA takes just 1 working day.

Btc-e, kraken and bitcoin.de. i think is the best exchange for btc/eur trading.
Good luck.

I would suggest Localbitcoins or Kraken. Mostly I use to go with localbitcoins only Because We can find some trusted traders in that and We can get updated prices When you go for sell or buy bitcoins. Privacy and security policies also fine than others trading sites.

Gatecoin EUR volume was up above kraken for a couple of days

Anyone know anything about this Gatecoin exchange?

It looks like they are based in hong kong and also trade ETH

I currently trust kraken more because they have a longer track record and have undergone audits for solvency

Kraken has established itself well enough to enjoy the respect of many traders. I also use Kraken. I have never heard of Gatecoin exchange. They have quite an impressing 24H volume, though. Higher than Kraken.

If you trade with a lot of cash, go for kraken. They are big enough to be trusted.
With other exchanges I always have a feeling they will run with my money.

Coinbase is also an exchange whom i would entrust with my money.

I would go for coinbase. They are newer but they have some high funding which means they don't have to make profit to make a great exchange.
With the fees, they are clearly making profit which means we can expect more investments in security and exchange tools.

Kraken has good conditions; fee, speed and the company is reliable.
What got me into kraken is the fact they got also ETH/XLM pairs. Not just BTC

For just BTC i would go for Coinbase, fast and decent prices.
For BTC / EUR and other pairs kraken is the exchange to go for.

Both are actually good, but each has it own specialty's.
