Is ecstasy really that dangerous?

The recent tragic deaths of two young people after taking ecstasy at the Stereosonic music events in Sydney and Adelaide prompted much media comment.

IMHO people will always take recreational drugs.
Imagine the money saved if the war on drugs was abandoned in favour of of legalisation and regulation? The money saved on policing efforts would be huge, but combined with the extra revenue raised in government taxes with their sale the amount would be astronomical!
Drug users could subsidised healthcare for non-drug takers, much the same as smokers do now.

Yes it is that dangerous.  The largest issue about illegal drugs is that there is no one watching over to make sure that the drugs being released to the streets are not spiked with something else.  There is no benefit to the drug in any way, but a bad batch will kill tons.  Taking any illegal drugs are kinds of like playing Russian roulette.  I never will and never advise it.

There are plenty of reported death incidents online proving ecstasy can kill you,  if not the after effects could last for the rest of your life. It's a vicious drug don't ever try it!

Yes it is dangerous i myself almost died from it once.
My entire body in every way failed.
I went ice cold and started shaking and my eyes started to go crossed and twitch etc.
I had to fight off convulsions as i lay in bed by myself wondering what in the hell i was going to do.
KNOWING damn well the drug just hit me and i had many more hours to go..
I guess i over dosed.
Eventually i just tried to sleep it off.. and lived.

So yeah it's a potent drug that can kill you (lots of reports of this happening)
I was cocky because i had done other drugs before and figured bah what ever it will just make you feel good etc.
I didn't know that it is brutal and intense of a high.. almost like taking LSD (which i had done lots in the past)
Like you get REALLY messed up taking X !

Also, it's common knowledge X is often laced with crystal meth or other things.

I had heard about studies that showed it erodes part of your spine with prolonged usage too.

Be aware it's a powerful drug that will kick your ass and maybe even kill you dead the first time you try it.
Probably a good idea to just leave it alone..
I had to try it once though.. never did it again.. ONCE was enough for me LOL

The last time when I was having a conversation about the drugs, the main theme was the ecstasy...

Honestly, I am not sure about that kind of drug, but I can tell for sure that LSD is definitely the most powerful thing that is ever created and I am sure that this compound should not belong to the group of drugs. Here is what I have discover about the LSD:

They are perfectly safe. Just make sure you're buying from a reputable dealer. You know, one who wants his customers happy and returning to buy more. Most narcotics are safe, you just need to use them properly and understand their effects before getting high.

LSD is not going to kill anyone neither is mushrooms unless they are the wrong kind etc.
I have done both lots and picked Mushrooms a lot.
Right beside the good mushrooms where similar looking one that will kill you.
A guy picks 1 of the wrong ones *wild* and puts them in the bag you are fucked !

X will kill you and all it can take is one time.
The stats say it loud and clear guys.. Google research how man have died from each.. and the frequency.
Take Fentanyl for example.. it's being spread around killing a lot of people right now.
It's sold as Oxcontin a lot and that is Oxycodone in a time release capsul. (contin means continuous)
The oxy is suppose to be taken as a long term drug slow release all day for the patient.
Drug addicts grind them up and take the large dose all at once.
These days Fentany is passed around as OXY's
BUT Oxy is a fairly mild Opiate.. nothing but a chemical mod of codeine.
I don't think OXY is stronger than morphine or Dialid etc
Pretty sure HydroCodone is similar to Oxy too (Percaset or Vicdin)
On the scale of Opiates Fent reigns king ..it's prescribed to people who are about to drop dead of cancer.
But there is news stories of it in Heroin, Exctasy and marketed as OXY's
I seen info on it 20 yrs ago but lately i seen notices put up on the Pharmacy door where i live..
Also seen it on the cover of a magazine in the Grocery store check out and on my local news web site.
All talking about people dying allover from it.

X pills are pressed from around the world using what ever they want to put in them.
There is a real risk because you don't know what is in them or how potent they really are.
And dealers get what they get.. good or bad.
Of course dealers want their customers to live but they make mistakes.
Which is why so many people in My Provence in CAN have died in the last year..
Not because the dealer was trying to kill them.. nobody is thinking that.

Amateur drug users should avoid Ecstasy and older users should be cautious.
Don't be paranoid about calling an ambulance either.. it may save someones life.

PS:
I have not taken Fentanyl or Oxycontin but i have done my homework and done other Opiates. (there is lots of them)

It seems to me a lot of young inexperienced kids try Ecstasy which is a problem.
I would advise they go for Mushrooms or LSD instead or even Marijuana and avoid the X
You guys out there are not missing anything with MDMA nor are you going to get pure product.
It will be laced with garbage.. potentially lethally !

No it isnt. Just make sure you get your pills tested, or know your dealer very well. Anyway, even if the pills are not OK, they won't kill you.
Just always start with half or even a quarter of a pill!

Weed is an "illegal drug" in most countries. 

Weed is illegal over control issues for the government.  The first ford vehicle made ran off of hemp oil.  Paper made from hemp is recyclable 3 times more than paper made from trees and it only takes 3 months to grow the plant back for more paper when it takes 80 years to grow the trees back.  It is a government control issue and if you do the research, in the USA, weed was not legal until the made it that way for the purpose of taxing it, not because it was bad for us.

That is silly.. all i meant earlier is there is a very real risk involved.

In Canada you can get a prescription and it's some what decriminalized.
