Your Coin - your rules.

But the method of distribution sucks. 

I don't think it was so bad. Once I figured out I should set a Twitter alert for whenever @AltcoinReserve tweeted, it gave me enough time to visit the faucet while there were still coins left.

The next best way to get them will be to set bids at 1 satoshi if/when it gets listed for trading. Lots of people like to cash out their free coins at the first opportunity.

When you are in the right timezone it isn't so bad. But every day at the same time only same people have a chance to get it.

I could catch now the last round. Thanks to the dev for changing time of distribution.

I believe the best place to build a community for a coin is here and not twitter. There is no much feedback on twitter.
You can try to involve people with signature or avatar campaign.
