I tried looking online but i can't seem to find the correct answer.

I'm trying to skip from re-downloading the block chain again so i don't have to wait days for it to sync.

I'm testing from my desktop to laptop.

How can i do this?

So far I:

1. Copied the entire directory on my desktop  C:\Users\desktop\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin   on a usb stick(55 Gig)

2. I installed a fresh copy of bitcoin on my laptop.

Now what?

Which folders & files inside the ......AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin    do i have to copy over,

Do i also have to copy the C:\Program Files\Bitcoin ?

I'm lost to which files & folders i have to copy from my desktop to my laptop, so i don't have to wait for it to re-sync.

Is it only the files inside the "blocks" folder? does that include the "index" folder? because that folder is inside the "blocks" folder

help!

Install bitcoin core on your laptop using the normal installer and then copy the blocks folder. open the wallet and it should take some time to process but it shouldn't re download again

You copied the entire data directory, so just go to your laptop and go to the location of the data directory. If it exists, you can delete it. Then just copy over the entirety of the stuff that you copied from your desktop. If you want the same wallet to be used, then you are fine and can run bitcoin core normally. If you want a different wallet, you will need to delete the wallet.dat file you copied and bitcoin core will generate a new one.

when i do a backup for bitcoin, i copy-paste the entire bitcoin folder, so at the next format of my ssd i just copy past the "Bitcoin folder" in the roaming folder

and it start syncing from the last time, in 30 seconds everything is settled

Before i got the chance to read everyone's replies, i copied only the "blocks" folder, including the "index" folder inside

And i started it and it has been stuck on "Activating best chain" for 7 hours,

Should i stop it and copy the entire bitcoin folder,  not just the blocks folder?

You could try doing that, but the activating best chain message usually sticks around for a while and it usually isn't an error.

update!!

i deleted the entire folder:

....Roaming\Bitcoin

and replaced it from the one with my desktop, and i started the bitcoin client!

and volia!  it shows my 1 bitcoin and it is synchronizing with the network(only 16 hours behind)

So in conclusion:

Only copying the entire "Roaming\Bitcoin\Blocks" folder does not work

You have to copy the entire Roaming\Bitcoin folder  and replace it all

at least this is the only thing that works for me.....  the total size of the bitcoin folder is 56.4 gibs   ,  so huge!!

That is the one that is guaranteed to work, but I think moving the blocks and chainstate folders are the only ones that you actually need.

Yes this is the best way to do it. I do it the same way when I am copying or backing up my wallets. This works the same pretty much with every wallet. Electrum, Multibit, Core, etc..

This. It's the easiest way by far. I'd actually recommend, though, going with something lighter like Electrum/MultiBit/etc.
