I have a BFL single that mines sporadically, but mostly craps out.

I would like to sell it for about 50 BTC, the approximate trade-in value.

I am sure someone with more technical know-how can easily fix any issues it may have.  I have read many cases where the heat-sink merely needs to be re-seated.

Thanks for looking!

I would have to take a stab at yes because no one replied so it doesn't look like a transaction happened. No because by now he probably did whatever he wanted with it.

New value ~28.1 BTC (600/21.35$)

Take off the heatsink.  (very easy, just those little white clips)

Clean off the thermal paste and apply some Arctic Silver.

Start with the slowest firmware and work your way up.  When it starts throttling back off to the nest lowest firmware.

So when it stops functioning as well as it should, is that because the single is heating up and shuts itself off for a few moments to prevent a meltdown?

If that's the problem, then are you able to just switch firmwares to slower ones?

Yes, if you let it run for a few minutes and it starts throttling (blinking red led) then just go to the next lowest firmware and try again.  Or you can cool down the room they are mining in.  I have found that anything over 72F is too hot.

Also you want to really check the heatsink.  Sometimes the clips come undone and the heatsink pops up off the chip.  I bought one from someone off these boards that was having problems and the only thing wrong with it was the heatsink was loose.  I popped it back in place and it was perfect.

Pretty sure BFL will replace if you send it back to them.  I got some replaced back in August, but of course they may not have any more left to send...

Coinbase for selling BTCs
Fold for spending BTCs
PM me with any questions on these sites/apps!  http://www.montybitcoin.com

or Vircurex for trading alt cryptocurrencies like DOGEs
CoinNinja for exploring the blockchain.

Gotta love the BFL RMA experience.

Send them a broken one - receive a broken one.

I was not amused.
