Retried now, and this time it worked just fine.
Obviously it was a temporary (though casually recurring) problem.
Before reporting here, I had tried a couple of times with different
addresses, and always got "invalid address" and that I should retry
with another... so it surely wasn't just a one-time glitch.

It looks like he's trying to allow users to get started immediately without registering (like bitcoinvideopoker.com and instawallet do) by assigning them a secret URL.

This allows you to add a username and password to a newly generated, anonymous user (if someone don't want to bookmark the URL with the key for example). The login form is accessible at https://www.xavoa.com/login where you can login with your usual username/password.
