https://www.rt.com/news/325696-putin-complaint-turkey-erdogan/One of the members of the notorious Turkish opposition movement has urged a criminal investigation against Russian President Putin for “insulting” and “defamation” of Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Furthermore, Mahir Akkar, a suspect in the Ergenekon ‘coup plot’ case, also wants Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anotoly Antonov to stand trial on grounds of “insulting the president.”
“This is a democratic right but we cannot turn a blind eye to defamation against our president by other presidents or officials,” Akkar said in the letter of denunciation, the Daily Sabah reports.
The plea submitted to the Ankara Public Prosecutor's Office also added that Erdogan can only be criticized if “the boundaries of criticism are not exceeded.”
I wonder what they will do next. Sue reptiloids or what? Mahir Akkar, I'm telling here that Erdogan is a lunatic asshole. Sue me, please.

Erdogan and Putin, a really bad combo. Turkey and Russia always had serious disputes, but they were always compartmentalized. They always kept up the appearances and real trade and deep cultural ties flourished behind it. This overt mud slinging is so uncharacteristic. Stakes in Syria must be real big in Russian calculations, they are willing to pay a big price. This is bad for all.

Erdogan and Putin, a really bad combo. Turkey and Russia always had serious disputes, but they were always compartmentalized. The Russians are fighting against the Turks / Mongols for the last 700 years, all over the Eurasia (Crimea, Caucasus, Armenia, Georgia, Greece, Volga, Ukraine, Balkans, Siberia, Trans-Caspia, Trans-Oxania, Afghanistan.etc). And they will continue fighting for the next 700 years as well, if the humanity survives for that long.

If they didn't, there wouldn't be any turkish state, only Greece and some western colonies.

Russia should have forced the Treaty of Sèvres, which was signed between the Ottomans and the Allied powers on August 10, 1920. It would have compensated the Ottoman Greeks and the Ottoman Armenians, who underwent genocide under the Turkish rule. Instead, the Bolsheviks helped the Turks to escape from territorial loses.

Russia doesn't fuck around and it's clear a lot of people have rightly held suspicions about Turkey for a long time, the jet getting shot down for violating Turkish borders was probably the final straw given how much Turkey has been getting away with when it comes to provoking other countries.

Erdogan is hoping that any disproportionate response by Russia will unite the Turks behind him. Before the crisis began, the liberal Turks and the Kurds were rebelling against him. A full fledged military operation was underway in the Eastern Turkey, against the Kurdish rebels. Erdogan managed to redirect the media attention from these events.

I am hoping that Mahir Akkar is nothing more than the equivalent of the Russian populist politician Zhirinovskij.
Putin has been rather careful (almost too careful) and politically balanced when speaking about Turkey and its sultan.
|
“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.” “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.” “It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.”

Russians: always going on with tiresome historical analysis and boring concepts like the connection between cause and effect.
Westerners: don´t waste time on useless shit like the past, only focus on the future, assume that everything started yesterday, in rare cases maybe last year.

They're part of the same left wing groups that will blindly defend Islamists against any criticism whatsoever which is why they seem to have no problem siding with the likes of Turkey and completely ignoring any consequences to the people that elected them.

Obama and Erdogan are saints. If you are denying that then you must be a Kremlin's paid agent.

It must have hit a nerve with nutcases from Istanbul to Washington DC when Putin talked about people not in favor with Allah. Of course he was too polite to mention that those the gods want to destroy they first make mad. Obama seems to have aged ten years in the last couple years and sometimes seems less than stable so maybe it´s getting there.
