yeah, they had a warrant to confiscate everything related to computers and data storage. They took 20 computers and 100 TB worth of storage devices.
What strikes me is that they just ripped out the power cords. What kind of data securing is that? What if the drives are encrypted, you then just passed your chance to read the data at that point.
The officers in that case don't know anything about that stuff. Think of them as a "postman" delivering a package ....
They act out of the "fear" that when you shut them down you delete all the evidence :/
If he had encrypted the drives probably (which everyone should do - by true crypt or some thing else) they will not be able to get any data of the drives
They can try but will most definitely fail...
By shutting them down that way they might even destroyed data, if not the hard drives
