Hey all, just as the title says, did anyone buy bitcoin when it's price was at it's peak ($1200)? And did they sell as it was dropping, or did they still hold on? I personally felt something was happening when it peaked :-/
So, back to the topic. Did anyone buy, and did they sell as it dropped? How much did they lose? Did you feel really really sad? What kind of an emotional impact did it have on you?

I brought about $10 of Bitcoins when it had dropped to $1000 to gamble on altcoins. I lost most of it, there's probably a few cents worth of worthless altcoins left from it. It's a good thing I didn't have more money to gamble with back then because I would have lost almost all of it making dreadful bets.

Some bought because of FOMO and sold immediately when they saw the price rapidly dropping, that's for sure. Seeing that there are still some people blaming bitcoin because of the wrong decision they made during the run to the ATH (can still read some rage post of bitcoin taking away their life savings etc.)

I only bought at 250 and 600 a year ago. Most of them went into miners which i already sold for quite a nice price.
Buying at 1200 would have been foolish, every person who did this has lost over 50% of it's money.

I was watching the price in 2013 when we had the huge spike, but I didn't buy any bitcoin until early this year, and I think the price was around $330 or something like that. There were enormous swings in the price two years ago and it looked way too volatile for me. It still is but my risk tolerance has increased somewhat.

I bought and sold some Bitcoin throughout that whole period, but I made more than I lost. I bought a bunch when they were still at around a hundred dollars back in early 2013. I do remember only buying very small amounts (Euro-wise) when it was at its peak. The bubble was too obvious, I knew it was going to drop after it hit $1000. Still happy with the choices I made back then, and I expect another bubble pretty soon, though this is just pure speculation.

A family member of me wanted to buy some coins just to try out what it is to have Bitcoin, and what it is to spend it, etc. If I'm not wrong, he bought $30 worth of Bitcoin. At that time he received around 0.028BTC for his $30

I think many also didn't sell because selling is taking loss. In the end nobody likes losing money nor are they pro traders, which understand that taking loss is sometimes the best thing to do..

A friend bought as it was climbing rapidly in 2013. He also had many coins from when it was far cheaper as well. His opinion was and still is to buy under $1000 and his outlook is long term as is mine. People need to quit looking at the price and do their homework. If you've got a thorough understanding of BTC then you have the confidence to buy and hold and not worry about the price. I say to anyone who bought at $1000, good for you! If you're still holding you will be rewarded nicely.
