No that is a lot of money to buy I prefer that bitcoins goes 200 dollars so I can buy.
I don't have that much money to buy bitcoins.

Something tells me that you won't see anymore prices of $200 in order to buy! You had about 10 months to buy at these prices. That was more than enough time to get into the game!

Yeah I did. And I bought more at $900, then more at $800, then more at $600...I think all in all I bought about $20k at those prices.

Never did sell.

Sold 200 btc waaaay back at $10 when it was an all time high. Now I'm scarred and can't ever sell btc again because of that decision. Sad

You can try selling an amount after few days as the price may most probably reach $550 but your loss is going to be huge. Many people bought bitcoins when it was $1000 and they are still holding their coins. Buying too much at those high prices is too risky. I hope that you are able to sell those coins though.

If he/she bought again at $200, they would have eliminated most of the losses at if they sold it now. I guess most people would find it difficult to buy again, if they bought at those

prices, but it's the only way to work yourself out of that situation. Bitcoin is still volatile enough to trade your way out of that situation. We should just accept that this will be a

high risk investment. It could just as easily went up to $10 000 ....What will these people say then?

I remember in 2009/2010 almost buying bitcoin when it was just below a dollar, did not end up buying because I needed the money back then (stupid decision) then completely forgot about it till the spike to 1000, then bought at the beg of the year at around 220$.

I didn't, I know some people did because they believed it would go way up higher but instead it dropped all the way down. I think it was because a lot of dumps happened and people had already made profits of that price. I wouldn't worr about it too much if you still own some bitcoins, you could just keep holding until you can make profits.

I didn't i know many people bought at this price but there was a hope.
A hope that one day bitcoin will reach 2k, but if they still have those bitcoins then there is still a hope.

I proudly bought a bit from localbitcoins above even that peak as I didn't want to crack open my cold storage. It was squandered on an alt that turned my $50 in 20c within a few days. Go, me.

I have heard that people buy when bitcoin is high and when the price is low they sell it. Why is that?
Is that a good thing to do? Because is not profitable to me.

Hey all, just as the title says, did anyone buy bitcoin when it's price was at it's peak ($1200)? And did they sell as it was dropping, or did they still hold on? I personally felt something was happening when it peaked :-/

So, back to the topic. Did anyone buy, and did they sell as it dropped? How much did they lose? Did you feel really really sad? What kind of an emotional impact did it have on you?
i never know bitcoin went upto 1200 lol, i thought the highest was around 1000. i started using bitcoin when it was around 1000 but didnt really buy much. i remember buying like 0.01 coins

1,254 or something is where it topped out! lol  I didn't have any at that time.

It reached gold parity acrually, even went above for a bit.

I, to answer the topic question, bought some around $800, luckily not at $1200 then Smiley
Did fail to sell at that time which I regret a bit...

The most people bought since were dreaming with a bigger value in the short time, soo they lost their investement very fast, but the most of them sold the coin and some of them are recovering their loss with the 200 value and the recent pumps being made.

If btc reach $1200 i exchange all my bitcoins to fiat Cheesy
Buy time: 200-300$
Sell time: Over 700$
I'm waiting for 2000$ Cheesy

Alright then i guess I can make a sort of prediction here  Smiley

1. You will never buy Bitcoins again (BTC will never drop below $300 )

2. You will start selling part of your coins in 2017 (when it will be over $700 )

3. If you are waiting for $2000 to sell all your coins then you'll hold most of your coins several years from now

I have a question why people buy when the bitcoin is high and when is low they sell it? They say is good for the system.
For me doesn't make any sense, because with that you don't make any profit.

I didn't but would if I could since im here for the long term. Anyone that bought for cheaper right at the peak thinking he is a genius will suffer from severe depression in 10 years when the 1.2K ATH looks like a small spike on the all time graph, remember this.

The cost of mining is about $200/coin for large mining farms now. The cost of mining has not been higher than the bitcoin price.

I didn't because I didn't believe it at the time and also couldn't afford it. I'm glad I didn't have the choice to not to buy it looking back at it now.
I do believe bitcoin hasn't reached it's full potential yet. So for now I'm just investing more when I have the chance.
