I was just searching my username on Googletm and, i found bitcointa.lk. Is this a sister/partner site or is it a clone of bitcointalk.org. I am assuming that they havn't copied across the login details but, in some ways it is very similar (but with a different design/layout!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Its an archive site, at any rate do not use it for logging in.

bitcointa.lk is basically a mirror of this forum on a newer forum software in order to improve the viewing experience. It's run by a pretty trusted member and you can read more about it here. You can link your forum account here to that site in order to have your posts transfer over automatically, though I wouldn't suggest using the same password just in case.

In fact there're few fake ones (I have opened a thread half and year ago on that: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1086448.0). I've asked it because I've found those fake sites through Google, too. So I prefer using the search box in the forum first, then only if after I can't found the result I want by that, then I use Google.
