    I downloaded mining_proxy_1.1.1exe and GUIMiner-v2012-11-18.

My GUIMiner  is:  Server: Other                 Website: n/a
                             Host: localhost:8332          Port: 8332
                      Username: myusername      Password: .......

the bottom says: Value Error: need more than 1 value to unpack

Proxy black window keeps saying: 2012-12-01 19:02:04,259 INFO proxy client_service.handle_event # New job 7984 for prevhash  82946d6a, clean_jobs=False

I am working on 1 rig,I have 4 other rigs mining on GUIMiner  v2012-02-19.Do i have to stop them?Do all the rigs have to run miner proxy? How does proxy know how to connect to bitcoin.cz?

I've tried to set  this up several times with no luck,I could use a little help. Thanks

The other rings need to point to that "localhosts" IP in order for them them get the information they need, also make sure you have  the other GUI miner updated to 2012-11-18 as that is when strantum was implemented on that thing.....

It looks like you don't have openCL installed for you GPUs.  Which ones are you using?

latest versions of maintained mining software do not require stratum proxy
eg: cgmnier guiminer

| Ozcoin Pooled Mining Pty Ltd https://ozcoin.net Double Geometric Reward System https://lc.ozcoin.net for Litecoin mining DGM| https://crowncloud.net VPS and Dedicated Servers for the BTC community

Is it possible to use CPU only?

possible yes.  the returns would be so low that it wouldn't be justifiable.

I am running more then a few laptops that i got for free as CPU only or using the on board intel Hd4000/2500/3000 to hash... not power efficient, but I don't pay for power here

For me, I just put "localhost" not localhost:8332

It should depend on the pool though

If you have no other overhead than time, (I, myself tend to be a cheap all purpose whore. j/k )  then it may be worth it esp if the price per coin stays on a steady incline..   Good luck.

I still cant get guiminer stratum to work, but can get cgminer 2.9.3 works except 2 gpu's work at 99%,one runs at 63%.Tried restart, changing clocks, that just dropped all 3 gpu's.
This rig has 6750,5670,5830 in it and the one that runs slow is the 5830. I get 552 mh/s on the old guiminer 02-19-2012. I'm using guiminer 03-12-2012 to run stratum with proxy
1.2.0. Haven't tried this on my other mining rigs until I can get this one to work. I'm also running scriptminer on the cpu's for litecoin but thats insignificant.
What can I do to get all 3 gpu's to run 99% on cgminer?

CG miner I have 3 instances (also 2.9.6 is out).
And I also have the 11-18-2012 guiminer (i would upgrade if you can)

(I watch TV on -g 2, i am also writing this from work so someone help me if i wrote thing wrong)

I run:
-I 5  -g 2 --auto-fan --queue 1 --temp-target 70 --gpu-engine 890 --gpu-memclock 275 --temp-overheat 80 --gpu-fan 75-85  -v 2 -w 256
-I 10 -g 1 --auto-fan --queue 2 --temp-target 70 --gpu-engine 1350 --gpu-memclock 485 --temp-overheat 80 --gpu-fan 75-85  -v 2 -w 256
-I 10 -g 0 --auto-fan --queue 3 --temp-target 70 --gpu-engine 945 --gpu-memclock 275 --temp-overheat 80 --gpu-fan 75-85  -v 2 -w 256

  Alright I think I've got it.All I had to do was change the "I" value from 4 to 5 on the card that was low.Go figure.Been using guiminer since I started,over a year ago,and cgminer gets much better mh/s.My rig with 3 5830's went from 880 mh/s to 920 mh/s,no drop-outs like guiminer,cool.Oh yea,3 6770's from 610 to 655!

I can't seem to get stratum to work consistently using only guiminer (currently v2012-12-03). I still have to use the mining proxy to guarantee that I'll connect to a pool using stratum.
