Yes you could have done many things with that 1k, even you could open rollin like site with that amount. Its better to play with 50-50% wining odd with small amount and for 5$, you could have only lost 5$.

I believe it is quite common mistake most of the gamblers will do this while gambling. The greediness will play a bigger role either we are winning bets or losing so very less people will exit or make a correct decision at right time. Anyway you can consider it as a lesson learned in very hard way.

There is allways loss in betting . You need to accept it, or not bet. Stay calm and step out if you can`t handle it now and want to recover asap. I try to enjoy betting and therefore not act too fast when I can`t think clearly.
