His name is Paypal. He has been fraudulently canceling transactions and yet people still trust him. Don't be a fool. He goes under many names but eventually he'll always reference paypal, and thats how you know its not going to work out.
Do not trade with paypal.

Scammers love paypal for a reason, paypal loves them back.

Bump for relevance. Avoid paypal at all costs. Paypal has helped defraud thousands of $USD from people trading bitcoins. Don't be a victim.

I wanted to make a topic like this but thought fuck it.
Really, this should be stickied. Since Paypal doesn't allow BTC transactions, why should it work the other way around?
Something that allows chargebacks can't work with BTC.
Just tell all members on trading boards to avoid PP like the plague.

why I've done a bunch of trades with paypal, it went fine. I think the real issue here is people not looking into who they are doing business with.

+1 I now own a few BitCoins due to being able to use PayPal. I bought in about a week ago when the prices were going nutty on BitCoinMarket. So there are some honest folk out here.

If he selling tab is any indicator, the paypal scam is going as strong as ever. Stop using paypal. For those of you who feel safe remember that the buyer can issue the order to paypal to get his money back - guaranteed - anytime within 90 days.

Within 180 days, actually. Required by law.

Freeze account, withdraw funds from bank.
Only safe way would be to literally setup a new bank account every paypal transaction, and not release escrow until funds are in your bank and that acct is closed. Even then, i'm pretty sure they could come after you further...

No, that's still not safe. You can't freeze your paypal account until you have no transactions in the past 180 days. And if you empty the bank account, you will become overdrawn, and have to pay not only the money paypal withdrew, but also the overage that your bank charges. There is no safe way to use paypal. Don't even bother trying. FFS it always ends poorly for everyone. Don't use paypal.

I know many of you already know this, but everyone needs to be aware, so I post the following....
Paypal has "outlawed" the purchase of bitcoins with their service.
This means that if you attempt to purchase bitcoins with paypal, paypay can terminate the transaction, reverse the transaction, the buyer can dispute the transaction, and/or the buyer can initiate a dispute and chargeback process with their credit card issuer even if its a "paypal gift".
No matter what happens you can lose your bitcoins and get no money because there is no means of delivery confirmation recognizable by the credit card issuer and paypal.
I know like me, many of you have had successful transaction with paypal for bitcoins, but please do not risk it unless you really really really trust the person you are doing business with.
Sorry if this have been beat to death elsewhere, but it is important information.

I'm kind of shocked the mods of this forum haven't posted something about it. The fact of the matter is paypal trades are a cancer that is full of scammers preying on bitcoin newcomers looking to get their first coins. This sort of thing needs to be 100% visible for all to see, and with some authority behind it.

I tried to. I posted about it (my above post) in the head of the marketplace forum and asked a admin/mod to sticky it to the top. They deleted it and moved it here. I have no idea what they are thinking either.
