A freind of mine gave me three Jupiter (Oct model) machines as they were not worth anything to him, I know they were working as I saw them working at his place.

I brought them home and they just refuse to work with me Sad

Basically, I connect the power molex and internet cable,
I turn it on and I see the ethernet port blinking a lot, then a big blueish light comes on in the kncminer box and two little lights (red and green) light up on the controller board.
After some time the green light goes off, but the red light stays on, not blinking, just on.

Reading this forum I have disconnected all the power to the ASICs, I then even disconnected the ribbon cables inside that connects the controller to the ASICs, I restart and the same: red light stays on.

I am unable to find the machine using Angry IP scanner (on both a mac and windows)

I have tried different PSUs, different ethernet cables, different molex cables, same damn result.

The above is the same for *all three machines!*

PLEASE help!!

You can reset the board configuration to factory defaults by pressing the little button on the control board 5 times quickly, then wait 5 seconds, then press 5 times quickly again.

Tried it, nothing.  Sad

Problem is there is no indication that anything happens when I do that...  not sure if I am pressing that button correctly / waiting for the 5 seconds Sad

Thanks for replying!

I have no idea what that means Sad

No. I have it exactly how it was given to me.
I really have no idea how to flash it or where to get the binary either... do you have any links?

Thanks!

KNC?

They have instructions for the neptune boards on downloading a zip, extracting it to a small sd type card, then sticking it in the ass of the beaglebone. Reboot, come back in 10 mins, it's factory default.

I did this to fix one of my BB's. Now if I could just get my Digikey shipment I can try swapping the power and FPGA parts.

The machines I have are Jupiters (Nov batch), the Neptunes were easy because they had a separate microSD card (if I remember right)...

Just an update:

Two of the machines are working again!

If you are having the same problem/s this is what I did:

I followed the instructions of the reset suggested above, but this time a little different.
I was clicking the button 5 times quick, so now I clicked it 5 times about half a second apart, waited 4-7 seconds (I was counting in my head, no stopwatch :p ), pulled power, again did the clicking, again pulled power... checked on Angry IP and found the damn IP!

I hope this helps someone in future.

Cheers!
