You do know what an analogy is, right?  You are being obstinately literal minded.  Forgery is the meat space analog to bitcoin's double spend.
Well, to me you're making an analogy between the taste of salt and the sound of the ocean. That doesn't really make sense does it?
Anyway, my point is that sometimes you can't compare stuff and you just have to accept that you're in front of something unknown and intriguing Smiley

"To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,"

"Woah there a minute Shakespere, the sea doesn't have arms.  And you can't have a sea of trouble, the sea is made of water you dolt.  As for fortune being made of slings and arrows; well you've gone mad haven't you?  Everyone knows that fortune is an intangible concept and therefore couldn't fight you with corporeal weaponry."
I have white hair and a balalaïka, your argument is invalid.
I like the shakespeare sample Smiley

I know what a double spend is.  I'm saying that eventually one of the two parties knows that you did it; how could they not?  Only one chain can be valid at any one time.  You cannot double spend without (eventual) detection.
Yeah, not arguing that

Why don't we just let this one go.  We're obviously talking at cross purposes.  When I said "you can't double spend forever", I was unclear.  I should have said "the same coins can't remain double spent forever".
Hahaha I was right you were wrong, I proved it to the world, I'm so much happier now than I was before!
Well actually, I don't really remember where this started from Smiley

I don't usually read english litterature, but I *do* have some shakespeare in english, guess I should read that instead if arguing with the rest of humanity on an internet forum Cheesy

There are only a few bitcoin millionaires around here, next year I'm sure a lot of us will be.

I'm not sure there exists even one millionaire - in any case there can't be more than 6 currently.

Oh wait - you're thinking in terms of this other money that inflated nearly 100000% in the last few months? Not hard to be a millionaire in such a currency is it?

That's a pretty personal question. That's like asking how much money do you have saved away in a bank?

37 cents in my bank account, but 43 bitcoins in my wallet.

Not as many as I'd like, but probably more than I will ever have again.

None yet.  Embarrassed

I just found out about Bitcoin a few days ago. Obviously I'm late to the party... my gpu is useless for mining.

And it seems very hard to buy Bitcoins in Canada.

Obviously I'm late to the party...

Relative to the people before you.

But very early relative to the millions of people who may join the party after you.

I have about 20. Kind of regretting all those I squandered. I figured the price would stay about the same for a long time. The most I ever spent on something was 60. I was scammed out of 12.

mining is dead compared to investing. it only serves to raise the prices and we already have plenty of miners who will do that for us anyways. Let the fight for the shrinking pie.

Mining is not dead compared to investing. You keep buying bitcoins at $30 a pop. I'll keep making them at $2 a piece.

Anyone with an abundance of coins will be smart enough not to post how many they have on a public forum for all the tax agencies in the world to read.

I bought 18 from bitcoins2cash at 9.50 last week.  Grin  I also accept them at my website (see my sig) but so far, no hits. Might have something to do with the lack of content updates in the past 3 months...

Search engines might get reallllly good in the future. You're an idiot to say how many BTC you have, especially if they inflate 100x or more. Google caches everything, as do other crawlers.
