Left-wingers aren't known to be friendly to religion or care about Gods.
If we strip religions down to rational level they're just ideologies and doctrines. Under this view, the most similar to Islam is Nazism, both blame Jews for everything, both are supremacist, both are totalitarian...

I think it's a rather functional than ideological "love". Probably they see muslims and mass immigration as a good tool to finish communities with historical christian roots off. Also, muslims are useful tools against whites, especially in Europe (because of the slow reproduction rate of the indigenous people). As a plus immigrants more likely to support leftist/liberal than conservatives parties.

In the USA, the left tries to attract all groups for which a "victim mentality" can be applied.  Thus Blacks, Hispanics, factory men, Muslims.  Does not matter that Muslims far right religous fundamentalists.

For a while muslims will serve their agenda and they will try to ride the wave. Or they can be ideal cannon fodder. Sometimes I think the political elite have something for us in their pockets about letting more muslims in and escalating the situation to a series of armed conflicts. Certainly there will be too few muslims to take and hold power for long but the destruction will be huge and after suppressing these uprisings (and wiping out most of their tools) the elite can ask for the "unity of Europe" as a defensive measure against the "horde" and for absolute power during the crisis (of course such a crisis could last very very long)... and I guess the scared and furious masses will grant them all what they asking for. But perhaps it's all about my false perceptions .

Islam has a working slavery format. Communism in Russia failed, and it will fail in China, as well. Islam is like a form of Communism that isn't failing.

About Russia/USSR, sorry to disagree.
Arabs have no particular friendship with them, just do business due to be in the neighborhood. Let's not forget the Ottoman Empire fell mostly due to Russia, the Afghanistan war in the 80's, the religious ban imposed on all the Soviet Union and their satellites, such as Albania.
Up to not long ago, leftists couldn't see Muslims, it just started to change post-Israel due to leftists being lured into believe Palestinians were socialists (yeah, right...) and later with the US' "big Satan" as a common enemy.
