I am contemplating teaming up with experienced individuals to buy S7 antminers or similar. But I lack mining experience so need some guidance really.

What I can offer is free electricity and a dark cold garage which will host multiple machines. Lots actually.. Any ideas what we can do together?

Can you guarantee uptime, security, individual access and duration that the miners will be run for?

Purchase a miner and see if you are capable of doing one, you'll learn a bit also from it and then can scale larger if you think you can handle it.

This is what people care about for the most part, not the price of electricity.

I think you will have to prove you run a good farm.  Some farms are so bad they actually hurt miners as so hot.  So people are rightfully very picky where they go.

Do you currently have a farm? Or what do you have currently?

I have nothing. I have mined with block eruptors and a pi. All I have is a cold big garage and free electricity Smiley

I guess I have to build up my experience then.

How do you have free electricity? Also, having a big cold garage doesn't mean you have the power to run multiple miners or the ability to cool them off. I have 2 S7s in my garage (2 car garage, with room for lots of storage and huge workbench) currently and those 2 miners heat my garage to a stable 70 degrees. usually my garage is cold.

I would do some research, buy 1 S7 and check it out first. Also, the noise could effect neighbors depending on location.

Ok I say garage I mean more of a big big garage. More like a barn so heat is an issue really it's a very very big space even in the peak of summer. For the free electricity it's a deal with the local council.

awesome on the free electricity!

heat rises so if you have some vents on the roof it would help with the matter. also is the barn 240v or 120? how many amps?

Your council may change their mind to provide free electricity once they see your usage or the bill. Somebody's gotta pay.

You can be sure that if you install 10 S7 or more. After the first month your deal for electricity is gone.

I agree with this unless their rates are dirt cheap or they are on a fixed bill up to certain kwh. Best bet IMO would be get some dirt cheap s3s and under volt them to around .5w to .6w per ghs and mine for yourself. Hell maybe solo or throw a few on a pool and a few solo. They will be quite and in for the long haul unlike s5s and s7s dropping.
