So I threw together a rig, mostly from parts I already had, and went with Windows XP since I'd seen in a few places that XP doesn't require dummy plugs to run headless or see cards that aren't plugged into monitors but OpenCL still appears to identify only the card I've got a monitor on. Have I been steered wrong? Does XP really require dummy plugs too or have I just missed a step somewhere?

Both cards show up in device manager, they're both available in Afterburner, but GUIMiner doesn't see them and if I try to manually launch a miner on the 2nd GPU from command prompt it doesn't work. Am I going to be stuck running to Radio Shack tomorrow?

Not only that but you can only oc the 1st gpu, I wasted too much time installing xp trying to figure that out and then installing vista.

GUIMiner shows "Cypress
  • " and my CPU only. I shouldn't need the Crossfire cable or anything like that right?

No just a dummyplug or 2nd monitor, and extending the desktop to the 2nd monitor/dummy for the 2nd gpu to show up for opencl

nope, you need dummy plugs, or go with linuxcoin

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
