The below problem has been resolved.
Thank you Instawallet!

It seems that someone is trying to attack Instawallet.org

There have been more than 50K new wallets created in the last few minutes or so.  (From less than 2M to over 2.05M )
If you watch the page,  the number of wallets is increasing faster than the eye can follow.

My recent instawallet deposit has also not been credited into my account.

What is going on,  and what can the community do to help?

(If someone knows the owners,  please contact them)

I don't see how the community can help, but Instawallet could help themselves. I've always wondered if it was maybe a bad idea to just create a new wallet for every new session as they seem to do it, but I figured they probably have some protection against crawlers, denial of service and things like that. Never really cared to put it to the test.

Regarding your funds not showing up: once I sold someone 100 BTC and sent it to the buyer's Instawallet address. After 2 hours of waiting (it was maybe 1 am) the coins were still not showing up in his wallet, even though blockchain.info showed many confirmations and even bitcoins going out from the destination address. It looked pretty bad, so being desperate I wrote an e-mail to Instawallet.

In the morning (about 10 hours after I sent the coins) I got a response from support saying they had fixed something and my buyer confirmed the 100 BTC magically appeared in his balance.

Have you tried contacting their support via e-mail?
