Hi,
I have access to a small but well connected DC that is owned my ISP business in the UK and I'm interested in starting a UK pool. I'm relatively new to the mining scene, but as a seasoned IT professional and network expert I'm really interested in starting this up either on my own, or with other interested parties.
I'm planning on getting the servers together over the xmas break but only have 2.5THs available to me at the moment, all of which is solo mining at ckpool, having lost my enthusiasm for Slush...
Any collaborators out there wanting to work alongside me on this?

It isn't worth to open a pool anymore. Nobody will join a new pool with no reputation. Unless you put tons of money into advertising a new pool will not get recognized by miners. If no one else mines in the pool, you won't get any cent of money from it. You won't find any blocks with 2.5THs.
Why not solo mine directly with the bitcoin qt instead of solo mining at a pool?

Yes there quite competitive market and there so many pool ..and all big player there in market with quite good reputation  .. so getting miner in new pool is quite difficult  ...and get profit out of it ...better use that to Mining in any pool you get better return

2.5th/s wouldn't even cut it.
You would need 1ph/s to have a good chance of finding a block, solo mining.

You can ask on mining subforum pools, but i think that is difficult for a new pool find miners. Normaly users like bigger pools, with high reputation and they look about how many blocks found on last month.

making and starting a pool isn't hard but getting miners is hard, you will need good marketing and promotion for your pool,as well as get more mining power to mine blocks , with few THs it may take you long time to solo mine single block.
