This is seriously bullshit and excuse, they could refund bitcoin with no problem if they want to, they have TX data and bitcoin address linked to every purchase and could just send back BTC there. I don't see any technical difficulties with that solution.

Yes, it was sold to PC Mall. The workers may be letting go, so they make think their going out of business. Mostly likely PC Mall employees will just take over all the jobs at Tiger Direct.

not if they sold the bitcoin to fiat minutes after receiving it.. because now a refund would involve buying bitcoin just to ave some to hand back.. which if they cant even buy stock for the customer, they aint gonna buy bitcoin either

That's why you should only use Bitcoin in big businesses. I've never seen anybody shopping at that site, I only saw their name in Bitcoin news because they accept Bitcoin. It looks like that's the new way of fraud.

Well now the only option to use bitcoins for electronics is Newegg it seems. Btw Tiger Direct are well-known but maybe their pricing wasn't competitive enough.

I'm surprised. Tiger Direct is a major player in PC parts. I guess NewEgg is the big winner if T.D. goes under. Fortunately they both take BTC.

If Tiger Direct was sold, and not closed down/bust, they should probably continue with shipping of the purchased items after management and other sections change. I would be surprised if they would to continue working under different company name without respecting backlog of orders from previous owner.

I felt that Tiger Direct started going downhill about 10 years ago after Newegg became popular. The last time I bought something from them was in the early 2000's, when they were still the #1 place to go to amongst computer hobbyists. I'd like to see how they are going handle the BTC refunds.

Checked this only a few das ago, apparently even newegg is out of the running for online retailers accepting Bitcoin. I went all over their website, and googled "newegg accept Bitcoin", and I got a link to one of their pages saying that it was a promotion that ended September last year. I can't find the payment option on their site either way, so I guess we're out of amazon-esque sites to use, or at least the ones I know of.

(“Systemax”) and its subsidiary, TigerDirect, Inc. (“TigerDirect”). Carl Fiorentino was sentenced to 80 months’ imprisonment. Gilbert Fiorentino was sentenced to 60 months’ imprisonment. The IRS definitely doesn't like it when they don't get their cut.
