Seriously it was long winded message of saying he is justified in stealing since he is worth more....   If he is worth more apply else where or if so vital to company ask for raise...

He could be the "basically king shit at this company" without a job with your plan OP.  And a firing is well deserved if he does any of what you speak of .

Hello all.

I really need some advice. i have a golden opportunity lying ahead of me, i just don't know exactly how to go about it, so I wanted some input, advice, and ideas from a community that knows their shit. i mean, you guys are the first google result, after all.

I have a mining idea that may be profitable for my father and I. Let me give you a little background on the sich.

My dad works as an I.T./Computer Network/anything-electronic-or-digital-give-it-to-him worker. He's second in command in the company under the owner, besides being the ONLY computer/tech guy working there. Once in a while he'll outsource extra help if he needs it (he decides who it is). He's basically king shit at this company, and the boss is in love with him. So much in love with him that he pays him 40 grand a year to do work that, in my opinion, is worth more like 150K. This is because he does much more than check network speed and sit on his ass. He made many changes and busted his ass for him and has raised the boss man's profits considerably. This is no way excuses what we want to do, but it just serves as an overview.

The boss is retarded. he doesn't check his electric bills. He doesn't know dick about computers.

My dad uses the company card to purchase whatever the fuck he needs and wants. He has the keys to the whole joint. He is in charge of the server room. He is the only person who touches anything inside any computer, or electronic device for that matter.

Here's the idea: I want to set up a mining rig in that office. I'm thinking along the lines of altcoins, but let me know if there is a BTC opportunity somewhere in there as well. You see, he has remote control from home over all the computers and shit in the server room too. There is at least 30 computers on the main floor, not to mention what powering devices lie in the server room that could be of some help. This, in combination with my father being able to use the company's card to purchase anything he wants on my boss's dime, lends itself an interesting predicament.
1. Any electronics, including ASICS, cost free.
2. Free electricity
3. At least 30 computers
4. A personal server room
5. Remote Access
6. Retarded boss and coworkers

I don't think this could be a million-dollar idea. But possibly a thousand-dollar one.

Whaddaya guys think? Please don't get preachy, or put me down if it's not a profitable idea. Just let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!  Grin

Here is what I think at best you can do 3 avalon 6's since they are not noisy .   cost = 4k if you are lucky to find them

they will hash at  11500gh if you use a good psu.

if all goes well you  will earn your money back by dec 2016 .

what can go wrong your dad gets caught and lose the job plus he faces jail time.

net profit 0 and no job.

plus side  coins raise diff runs low and you dad does not get caught.

you make 2k by July 1 and maybe 3 k by dec next year.  so the upside is 2 -4 k profit in a year.

this  idea of yours = not worth it.

His boss will eventually find out that his bill has gone up by a ton recently, and he'll trace it back to your dad.

Your dad will get fired and your mining rigs are moved out. What a happy ending that is.

I would not guarantee he get's the rigs back.  If it was a crime committed by leaving them at this work it would not surprise me if they are sent as evidence waiting what ever trouble he get's into.   He might get them back but.... with being used to do the crime i would guess would be a long and hard process.

Again OP just don't do it.  I wonder OP's age, I hope his dad is smart enough to know how bad of a idea this is.
