At one time Cryptsy was the place to trade Alt coins for BTC.  Well, I have had a 5+ BTC withdrawal suck there for 2 days.  Other exchanges BTC withdrawals are almost instant!  Opened a support ticket and nothing!  A buddy of mine has had his withdrawal stuck for 3 days.

I'm not trying to spread FUD, but am I worried, you bet I am!!  I didn't use Mt. Gox, but lost 2 BTC at Mintpal.

I'm hoping the wallet maintenance will fix the issue, but I'm starting to get worried.

I'd be willing to think such a thing might happen, but there isn't any proof aside from some people having their withdrawals take a long time.

If there is anyone on the inside that would be willing to say something, or more information about what is actually happening in the exchange, it would be beneficial for a lot of people.

I hope that your coins are safe, and that you get them soon.

There are people who have been waiting for a few weeks now with no response from support.
Rumors are the worst case scenario. Either they were hacked and lost coins, or not profitable and about to go under.
Last week or two, people were withdrawing any altcoin to get their btc out, over the rumors, but Cryptsy stopped that too.

Good luck to you and the other Cryptsy users.

i think that person waiting 2 weeks was trolling because he had other issues.

cryptsy have either been manually pushing transactions or on request cancelling the transaction so that balances returned so that people could trade into alts and withdraw alts.

no one can know whats really happening internally, whether they are liquid or not. whether they have issues due to bugs or have been scammed by malleability attacks, whether they been hacked or had a malicious employee.. no one knows its all speculation. i would just suggest finding other methods to withdraw and just wait it out

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

cryptsy could also be hacked and lost a lot of their coins due to that. that might be a reason for them to halt withdrawals. or it could be the owner that is stealing the coins from people by not letting them cash out. this is pure speculation. they might also operate in a normal manner after a while. it's too early to compare cryptsy to mtgox or mintpal.

people have been complaining about Cryptsy on here for months now, it aint looking good.  My advice to anyone wanting to trade is not to use cryptsy.  i find Polinex very good, very fast withdrawls.

That was the talk today, convert it to DOGE and WD it.  But all that was doing to inflating the price of DOGE.  I'm sorry, I'm not about to take a 30% hit.  I'm hoping after the work there is done my WD clears.

I will be worried too if I had such big amount, however, I think that things will get worked out. The exchange is just too big and it will be prosecuted by law if it happened to run with everybody's money. They know it and are likely to do their best to pay users.

There are numerous threads here about the shenanigans at Cryptsy, basically all saying the same thing.  What I've heard is that you can trade btc-->doge, but the doge price has been inflated, and there's the withdrawal fee on top of it.  But if it works, do it because it's not looking like there's any other way to get funds out of there.

It's totally unacceptable that they're not communicating with their customers.  Does anyone know where they operate out of?  I don't remember seeing that in another thread.  Perhaps the disgruntled should picket like those two chaps did with Mt. Gox. Tongue

When you ask info about the reason withdrawal is not working, on the chat, you will be banned.
I got banned after asking which coins could be withdrawed right now.
This is really not good.

No proof aside from them not being able to do what they are supposed to do. Sounds safe to me.

I watched two people get banned by JShock saying that Cryptsy was insolvent or becoming the next mtgox.

It was hilarious.  (And it's probably true.)

Dammit it's getting worse and worse every day.
Even they had all the right intention, their name is ruined now.
Which investor would consider cryptsy after checking all these threads??

People there are bailing, trading BTC for DOGE and taking a 30% hit.  I'm hoping they get the issue straightened out soon....

It's a matter of weeks before they close shop nowl
The amount of threads about cryptsy are increasing every day. No company,  healthy or not can handle that..
