Connection Failed: Connection timed out: No further information

I just download bitminter last night, v1.3.0
it was working wonderfully, and then this morning is giving me this error
"Connection Failed: Connection timed out: No further information"
it's got the disconnected icon at the bottom, but nothing has changed since last night
no ports have become blocked/filtered
I've even tried the port 80 firewall friendly option, but it has not worked either.

is there a way to find out what's wrong?

Ah. Thanks for the heads-up. BitMinter has been down for me since ~12:30am Eastern time.

At any rate, it's not just you. Bitminter op is usually quite quick to resolve these problems, and this is the longest outage I'm able to recall.
