I really need some help. I have Electrum and it has been working perfectly for several months until now. I try to click the electum icon thats on my desktop and the only thing that happens is my mouse shows the symbol that means I have to wait for the program to open. I know my 12 word passphrase but dont know anything about how to use it. In the taskmgr I see that it is on. I dont know I could use some help.

So yours won't open at all?  Currently mine is continually synchronizing, not sure why.  Switched the server it's supposed to connect to a couple times now.

Mine doesnt open at all. I cant even change servers. One time it was down and I just changed servers and it was back up immediately. I wonder if everybody has trouble with it right now.

Yeah, so far it sounds like it's on the other end of the line, not local issues.

I think they just updated the client, so download/update on your end.  I just did that and it works perfectly now.

I am not tech savvy at all. Can you tell me where you downloaded the update. I have Windows xp. Also can you tell me how to run the program and put an icon on my desktop that works. Thanks.

I think I just fixed it, I downloaded FlatFly and it seems to work. Thanks for telling me I needed an update.

Heh, well I'm glad you were able to get it working without me directing you to the update, particularly since you're on Windows.  I simply went to Terminal and updated it through there, but somehow I'm guessing that none of what I did would work outside of linux. Wink

Hey I had the same problem on my ubuntu machine.
I downloaded the new electrum file and it worked no problem. However I lost the 0.001 BTC I had on there.

How did you update your existing electrum client?

How did you update your existing electrum client?

I simply used 'sudo apt-get install electrum' in Terminal, it updated electrum and still kept the meager BTC I had in there.

I am having the same problem, but updating did not fix it - it won't open even on version 1.5.6. I am using the .exe build of Electrum from the site. Does anybody know what to do?
