I think by the end of 2016, the price of bitcoin will be over $1000. It is increasing already now, and halving will also help the price rise.

A $1k floor isn't really impossible. That price has been reached a couple of years ago in the first halving so why not again?

Still though, a lot of factors are at play nowadays, so maybe expect a little less than $1k.

I would be happy to settle for a floor @ 500 USD.

The price was 230 USD just 2 months ago, why in gods name would we see a price of 1K?
It doesn't make sense for the price to grow this much.

The price will go to 600 - 800 USD. I see a lot of things happening; price increase, increasing Venture capital.
It would make no sense the market will determine the price of bitcoin is overrrated.

One hundred trillion dollar market cap. I don't think we will see this in 2015 (but still 2 days left so you never know) but for sure 2016.

Even though I believe that bitcoin can reach far above $1000, the resistance level won't be at the same height as the new ATH will be.

Yes you make valid points.
The price will not go to 1000 dollar in 2016.
But getting to somewhere between 600-800 is doable.

Based on what? Halving alone won't get us to $1k, let alone close to the all time high. No way. It required quite a lot of speculation efforts under Mt. Gox scheme, this time it will be only more difficult. Halving itself is a good excuse to start p&d games, but won't provide sufficient fuel to go really far. And for now I don't see more than $600, as a stable value for 2016, which is already quite optimistic.

Over 1k is very very hard. But having a halving coming up, it make sense we will see some futher increase later this year.
Having a stable price above 700 dollar would be very very good.

I think the halving can make it to $800. If we agree with the block size increase fast, the price could be $1600 or higher.
