First of All you need A rooted Android Mobile(Important)
Then
1) Clear the data of dropbox and uninstall it.
2) Then Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/6uvr48jwm2p6of1/Dropbox_CMW.zip?dl=0 And Copy This in Mobile!!

3) Flash the dropbox_cwm.zip from above link or you can extract that zip and manually copy the files and set permissions.

4)after rebooting, login to dropbox using your free account.

5) You will receive the email shortly from dropbox to claim 50 gb. Just follow the link in the email. You can have this bonus space for next 24 months.

It may have backdoors, if not viruses. But I've heard its pretty common method, which is more or less monitored by Dropbox, so won't work most of the time

Its very common method but it was actually for only Samsung mobiles only !! But this Method Works for all Mobiles!!

Nice tutorial there. Im doing flashing since I started in Android world 5 years ago so I see the instructions are fair and will do no harm if we try. Also I see those files are not that harmful.

I just don't get how it can achieve the 50gb of Dropbox. OP can you clear this? It's applicable also if you access your DB in their main site and not by through app? If that is possible maybe Lucky Patcher will do.

Dropbox now are only available at Version 4.0 and up means Ice Cream Sandwich up to today's version. There are still lower version of the app but I think it will be lack features. Dropbox supports lowers version in the past. I have an old version of it back in my Gingerbread days currently uninstalled now of course because I have the latest one.

If it worked for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone. It is very likely that there is a backdoor in the flash. Basically all it does is to change your current device to a SAMSUNG one and get the 50gb promotion from Dropbox.
This can easily be done by using a file manager - change device build/manufacturer - reboot - start Dropbox.
There is no need to flash anything.

I haven't tested these files, but if you're worried that they might be malicious you can simply search for the original apk files from Samsung rom's. Specialty sites have tutorials on how to do this. Also, as far as I remember, for this to work you have to edit a system file in order to identify your device as a Galaxy S for this to activate.
