Import private key

Hey

I need help with importing my private key into any wallet. I need to sign a message with that address.

I don't have Bitcoin-qt installed and don't want to do that because it takes too much space. I don't own a wallet.dat or any file like that. All I have is a private key in text format.

Is there any online Web wallet or anything like that will let me import the wallet and sign a message?

I assume with "text format" you mean WIF[1]. If so you can import it to blockchain.info. They allow to import priv. keys and let you sign message. If you prefer something local, use electrum 2.

If your private key is for example in this format 5xxxxxxxxxx.... Then you can import it into blockchain.info or Electrum if you want it locally.

Go to blockchain.info
Login => Import / Export ==> Import Private Key ==> (insert key) ==> Click the ok button.

Folks are telling the OP that he could use blockchain.info to do the work he needs to do (sign a message).  This is true, but such advice should come with a strong warning: once you give your private key to blockchain.info you're relying on them to keep it safe---ie, you've got multiple points of failure: yourself, bc.i, network transport.  Anyway, this may be fine, but if you were going to use that address to store any significant amount, I, personally, would opt for a local solution where you don't have to send your key over a network to a third party.

Agreed, I would like to stress this point too. I recommend Electrum instead of using any web wallet where you will share control of your private key.

Blockchain.info is the best... I thought about coinbase but you can't import any address into it, all you can do is sign a message from an already existent address attached to your account.
