Yes, alternative coins are worth it for buying for, because aside from being profitable in this kind of investment it is a less hassle to everyone because they are not putting too much effort in this business.

If you want to invest into crypto, you have to know the coin's history and how long it existed.
You should read their ANN too.
You want to know their coin supply and the team behind it.
As for me ETH and some others that has existing for quite some time is what I like.
