Multi-algo projects are worth holding onto, especially when its so cheap to 51% attack projects that are not super secure. https://www.crypto51.app/ has an interesting list of some large marketcap coins that are very cheap to attack.

I would go for the ones who present real solutions. Right now the best altcoin that offers the options to develop real live applications based on smart contracts IMO is Ether. Other that eth there's Dash, who is said to have the infrastructure to apply smart contracts and of course Monero, the preferred anon coin

Because the amount of coin is too much, so a lot of dead coins or junk coins that are not in the lyrics by investors because the coin is really not have the potential to hold in the long term or short term,
But there are still a lot of coins you can analyze, for you to make investments, like NEO and Ethereum, these two coins have shown their ability in the crypto market.

I agree Eth has great potential but also has to work out some scaling issues. I like Dash as well, doing a great job marketing which is huge in this space. The reason I mention digibyte is due to its security. I always try to keep a percentage of my hodlings in a ultra secure coin. Especially after what happened with zencash. I have a feeling that will not be the last major 51% attack. Hodling platform projects is key but they aren't always as secure as multi-algo projects.

Another great multi-algo coin that has tons of potential is Unitus. I’ve been accumulating Unitus for a while now. No ICO, No Pre-mine and No dev tax. 5 algo’s, all merge mineable which allows the miner to get rewards from two projects at the same time while only using the energy of mining one. You can mine it with CPU/GPU/ASIC without the ASIC’s having an unfair advantage. You can even mine with a cell phone. One of the best features will be a hybrid proof of work/proof of stake system that will be implemented in 2018, which will allow hodlers to earn block rewards for hodling. Their circulating supply is only 58 million, it will hit its soft cap of 83 million in June of 2022. Afterwards block rewards will stay at 2 UIS.

I think so, but those who already have teams and a finished product that are already settled and with others a very big risk, so think and study before investing!

I'm sure that buying alternative coins can make you a rich man. If you choose the right coin and will be able to sell it more, then you will earn money

I think with a narrow specialization in the struggle for future markets and users, and someone suggested an open real-time security anyone anonymity when making a transaction, someone low a fee, someone quick processing of information, one way or another, much variety can now combine platform 2.0 and what I think it is pointless to run coins how to create diversity and that the loss of time and money and that in the end we are viewed and seen only a few developed and open source, that may become useful in the economy, although that full of some solutions we make sure that not to find, but the fine-tuning to the requested acceptable maximum and already vypolnenie problems and continuing to explore it can be solved, though.

Some of these posts do discourage some of us who are new in the system. We see them and we begin to ask ourselves a lot of questions about what we heard even before we entered into crypto  and what we have grown to learn from the internet as well. I'm personally very confused now.

I would choose between EOS and NEO.  I think these coins have good potential.  Or you can divide the investment between these coins.

The coin with most perfom this years is eos. I do think eos is good for long term cause eos has a good project on blockchain technology which is really popular and so many company are trying to use it in their own companies.

May be for long-term it is good, but it cannot bring a good profit, as it is quite big already.
I would but something new and small, like CyberMiles or Remme, projects, which have potential to grow in the nearest future.

It seems to me now is part of the money to invest in EOS.  This is a good coin with a lot of potential.

Well it is worthy to know that market is general down and also crypto requires patience most people don't have patience when they make investment, they expect the coin to moon immediately. TO invest in altcoin research on top 50 coins ion the coin market cap and invest then give it time to mature for your profit.

There are too many to mention, coins which I believe are very good long term. Top 20 coins are more safe but coins beyond that list though have higher risk but more potential to a bigger profit.

There is no definite answer to your question as everyone has different ideas on what makes a good investment. All i can say is to do research and invest in coins in which you see potential, remember just because a coin is feature rich does not mean that it will succeed NXT being a prime example. Personally i am invested heavily in bitcoin, litecoin, peercoin and dogecoin as these tend to follow each other when BTC price increases. They are also some of the oldest altcoins around and have considerable staying power. They are also all in the top ten at coinmarketcap.
