I don’t buy a coin now. I transfer coins which I receive from performance of a baunty to ETHEREUM and invest them in various ICO. But now is very difficult to find good ICO as there are a lot of swindlers.

For long term i think Ethereum is a good buy.Because it has a great community. Waves is another one.It is a platform like ETH.They have a decentralized exchange. Its community is growing day by day.

like others have suggested previously, i recommend you to do research on what alt-coins do you want to invest. top 10 altcoins in CMC would be a good one to invest such as ripple or stellar lumens. Even though it's centralized but i think they have pretty good value in their project and also have pretty huge community. IMHO

Depends what altcoin you are buying because not all altcoin is worth some of them are worth less or some of them are shitcoins.. its better to choose altcoin in coinmarketcap choose top 20 altcoin and you will make a profit for sure
