See here : http://cointelegraph.com/news/115935/expect-bitcoin-price-to-reach-us1200-or-more-next-year-experts-say and tell me what do you think about what those "experts" said .

Erik Voorhees, CEO Shapeshift :

Quote
“$1,800. Mining supply cut in half, continued growth and use of the platform, financial institutions realizing BitcoinCT r:  2 is the BlockChain, and more people discovering they can save 20% at Starbucks with FoldApp.”

Bobby Lee, CEO BTCC:
Quote
“My estimate is around $2,000. The biggest driver behind price increases will be increased global awareness of Bitcoin. Today, the price of Bitcoin is $1 per capita. My price target for the next year is $5 per capita, which is around $2,000 per Bitcoin. For comparison, the price of Gold is at $1,000 per capita.”

Jeff Berwick, chief editor of The Dollar Vigilante:
Quote
“$1,799. Biggest drivers: bank, currency and economic collapse.”

Andreas Antonopoulos, Bitcoin expert, speaker, entrepreneur:

Quote
“I don't do price speculation. It's astrology for markets and I think it is irresponsible for media companies to do this.”

Vishal Gupta, CEO SearchTrade:

Quote
“Next year post halving I expect 5x price rise, so we could see Bitcoin between $1,500 to $2,000 range by the end of 2016. Mining Rewards halving had 8x impact on price last time around in 2012.”

Oh look big name businessy guys in suits and ties said stuff so you ought to listen. Our decentralized system has authority figures now. Included in this list of auhtorities is Bobby Lee, the owner of the dubious Chinese exchange that pumped and crashed bitcoin in 2013, and he said something to try to pump the price every month in 2014.

I'd obviously love more coins but I'm mildly happy with my cold storage stash. I'm buckled up & ready for the ride.
If you haven't got a ticket to this train gentlemen it's time to buy now or cry later.

I agree that it's probably going up next year. I just don't understand why these people's opinions are so important, especially not Bobby Lee.

I also have the feeling that we will reach a new ATH in 2016. I am however not convinced that the price will stay above the $1000 price level. There will be huge dumps that will heavily put the price under pressure. We might even see price swings of +$100 several times a day when we reach +$1000 after the block halving. There will be a lot money to be made.

The price could rise to $1200, that is mainly due to the adoption of bitcoin and also the halving. Halving will have less effect in the future.

so everyone is advocating 2k as the next price, i'm also incline to agree on this, we won't reach 1200, i doubt we can match exactly the last ath, so it's more likely that we will surpass it

I expected lower prices for next year between 600 to 800 dollars, but i will hold my bitcoins to see if i am wrong and it reach the 2k dollars. I will be very happy if i am wrong in my prediction and prices are higher.

They are seems to be quite optimistic. They can be right but I think that will happen around the end of next year unless something unexpected. Of course I can't rule out some big pumps around the halving but I doubt that those highs will last long. BTW a slower more organic growth would be better in the long run.

Did you notice how wrong all those important people have been through 2014-2015? They kept telling everyone to buy, buy, buy. This is a bad sign, folks. When they say buy, you should sell.

Yes you seem to be quite right with your point. The one who we call expert are the one who try to manipulate and make profit out of it. Although market seems to have lots of potential on next year if those expert try to manipulate market than they can, market can go both way.

It seems pretty clear that they don't have an unbiased view.  However, that doesn't mean you should do the opposite of what they say - by definition, those with a vested interest will never predict gloom and doom.  Rather, don't depend on them being right; at some point they may be right.

Same applies to all the bears and FUDers on here.  They may be right, but they will never tell you the market will go up.  So basically their opinion is almost worthless.

I really didn't expect them to "expect" this kind of very high prices.
My biggest guess was like $700 something.

Almost worthless is being generous, you're giving them far too much credit lol
Anyone who crys bitcoin is doomed  to crash while hanging out on a bitcoin forum is a obviously got their own agenda, if it were really worthless, they would sell and move on...... Yet they hang on encouraging others to sell..... Wonder why?... Wink
Only the weakest of hands would dump at a time like this when they're is so much potential for rapid growth around the corner... Cheesy
