Hi all,

I was using Electrum in Tails 1.8 with a persistent volume without a problem. Then I upgraded to Tails 1.8.1 and Electrum stopped connecting to the network. None of my transactions appeared in history and all addresses had a balance of zero. I tried manually connecting to a number of servers to no avail. I then installed Electrum on my Mac and restored the wallet from the seed. It connected to the network immediately but the addresses appeared to be different and my balance was at zero. I would ideally like a way to get Electrum working again in Tails, but any method of accessing my bitcoins again would be great.

Thanks!

If you restored from the seed and received different addresses then you did not enter the correct seed.
Double check it and try again.

What you also can do is to copy the wallet.dat file (might be named different e.g. default_wallet.dat) from your trails persistence storage to your Mac and open the file from the Mac.

If this works I recommend you create a new wallet, write down the seed and test it.
Once you see that the seed recreates the same addresses transfer your bitcoins to the new wallet so that in the future you have a valid seed to restore the wallet in the future.
