The world mostly accesses the net on smart phones these days. So is the password on its way out?

If testing is successful I see no reason to not put this technology into everyday use.It will take some time for people to get used to their passwords are no longer needed.Login with password also remains so that people will be able to use the option thay want.One day, today's way of logging will certainly go into history.

Sounds great but then again some people will always be too lazy and or dumb to make sure that the phone is inaccessible to others if it´s lost or lying around unattended. But stupidity shouldn´t be allowed to delay progress.  There are costs to being stupid or should be.

This isn't password-free log-ins. The way I see it, you just don't log out. Is that progress?

I don't use any google websites, I use startpage.com for my searches, and there are plenty other choices for anything google offers.

I see some problems coming if someones phone gets stolen or hacked

It is somewhat like entering your username, and then going to your email account for an authorization they emailed to you. Such is done all the time right now, and has been for a long time. In general, password is easier if you don't have everything you do connected to Google.

I think its not necessary since password is one of the most important thing to private an account. So it seem hopeless

They certainly are. They can afford to lose billions on crazy ideas and yet are now the most valuable company in the world. Nice going. I guess the moral is, strive to have tons of good ideas (and some bad inevitably) just make sure that the good outweighs the bad handily.
