Are there any other options for searching for keys besides simple brute‑force search?

It's a good method and quite faster than searching from left.

Good luck to everyone!

The answer to puzzle 71 will be announced soon, so I suggest you start. Look for puzzle 72, and you will get a higher bonus.

At the moment, my local private pool has already scanned 500 quadrillion keys, and I’m not even close to finding the key for Puzzle 71. I’m picking up another GPU—just for fun, really—because actually finding it would require a tremendous, truly immense amount of luck.  Cheesy Smiley Roll Eyes Grin

500 is a large range; do you keep the ranges you’ve already verified? Could you share all the ranges you have verified so far?

Yes, I do keep them; it wouldn’t make sense not to—after all, I don’t want to have to redo any work. I should mention that a scanned key is never repeated; a new one is scanned every single time.

Hello saatoshi_rising,

I'm following up on your April 27, 2017 explanation of the Bitcoin puzzle construction.

I've been conducting a technical investigation into the deterministic wallet and the masking operation you described. In particular, I'm testing whether the original source keys could have come from legacy Electrum, Armory or BIP32.

I'm hoping you might be willing to clarify a few technical details:

1. Which deterministic wallet software and version did you use?
2. Was the source wallet based on Electrum's legacy MPK, Armory's chained-key system, or another construction?
3. Do you still have the original generator or its masking implementation?
4. Would you be willing to share a public-only artifact, such as the original MPK, account xpub or public root and chain code, together with the derivation-index convention?

I am not requesting any seed phrases, private keys or wallet passwords. A public-only artifact or a description of the original derivation process would be sufficient.

My goal is to reproduce the construction against already-solved puzzle addresses and independently validate the method before investigating the remaining puzzles.

Thank you for sharing this fascinating challenge with the community. Any clarification would be enormously helpful.

sorry, it’s easier to just ask for the private key right away lol

Thanks for clarifying. That's actually interesting because I'm also investigating Puzzle #71 and trying to establish a reliable record of previously searched portions of the keyspace.

Would you be comfortable sharing a summary or manifest of the ranges your pool has already verified?

Ideally, the hexadecimal start/end values of each range, the total number of unique candidates checked, and whether the searches are sequential or distributed across randomly selected intervals.

I'm particularly interested in comparing independently verified ranges so that different search efforts can avoid duplicating work.

There's no need to disclose private keys or sensitive infrastructure. A public range ledger would be sufficient.

Thanks!
